Looking for a holiday cottage where your dog is as welcome as you are? Look no further.

We understand for we are proud pooch owners ourselves and we couldn’t imagine a holiday without them.

Now, it’s your job to keep your dog happy, healthy and safe, not to mention clean and sufficiently ‘walked’ – although we imagine it’s probably more like sufficiently muddy, wet and dirty! ; )

Sounds simple enough but from our experience we imagine you’ve struggled at times to find off lead exercise areas or the price has risen dramatically when searching for that perfect getaway with your four legged friends. Not to mention how frustrating it is when there aren’t any dog friendly pubs nearby.

We pride ourselves on being ‘more than dog friendly’ so we’d like to welcome you and your furry friends to holiday with us at our beautiful and unique off grid spot near the iconic Lake District. Not only are we dog owners ourselves which means we have great contacts in an emergency, we provide doggy welcome packs, a quiet and calm location, cleaning facilities, walk recommendations, secure environments for off lead exercise within our 9 acre estate and we can recommend many local pubs and cafes that love dogs too.

"We had a fantastic time staying in the keepers lodge. The cottage was very clean and well stocked with essentials such as towels for us and the dog, water bowls and even fresh eggs! The dog loved it too and the enclosed fields with balls and toys supplied was most welcome. We had a nice area next to the cottage with a table to sit out and eat and closing the gate could let the dog run free... once the chicken etc had moved on. The location was excellent and a great place to explore the lakes, dales and morecambe bay. Will definitely be back"

"What a special place! If only I could give extra stars. We stayed at 'The Dairy' and a few days wasn't long enough. We appreciated all the little touches, even the dog got a welcome pack. The local sandy beaches were not over crowded and the beautiful lake district is only a short drive away. We will be recommending to our friends and family!"

"A lovely stay in The Coach House at Brackenthwaite Farm. Communication with Harry was great and he quickly responded to any questions we had. We had our dog with us and the exercise area around the back of the farm was very welcome as was the box of useful pet items for guests to use. The cottage was spotless, beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Thank you for making our first visit to Lancashire a positive one"

"Corner Cottage at Brackenthwaite was probably the best holiday let we have ever booked. The set up and presentation of the cottage is top drawer. The owners have thought of and included everything, plus. The plus being that instead of feeling like a holiday let, the quality and care with which the place was 'dressed' with high quality ornaments etc made it feel as if we were staying with a house proud person with good taste. The same care extended to the grounds which include, a short walk away a safe mown field for dog exercising even with a box of toys to keep your pooch happy. The location is quiet and in easy reach of Silverdale and Arnside, both worth a visit"

"We had a lovely weekend staying in the Coach House. The accommodation was clean and well maintained and very dog friendly which was a key requirement. The biggest bonus was the animals around the farm from the beautiful cows to the chickens and lambs. It just made the whole experience wonderful."
