Keeper’s Lodge is the original holiday let property at Brackenthwaite and was chosen for the privacy it would bring visitors and the beautiful outlook towards Farleton Knott and Hutton Roof National Nature Reserve.
Previously a farm butcher’s shop, Keeper’s Lodge was first converted in the late 1970s and benefits from being all on one level once inside. The living area is open plan and modern, having been upgraded in early 2023.
Able to accommodate up to 4 people, this property has a double and adjacent twin bedroom. Keeper’s Lodge is particularly popular with avid walkers. The Wet Room, which is also modern and well appointed, is for everyone’s use and makes washing easier for any young children you’ve brought with you and those with any mobility difficulties.
The apartment is cosy and comfortable inside and extends to a semi-private outside area that can be fully secured with a gate providing extra safety if you are travelling with children or dogs. You’ll have full view of where the hens and ducks are housed and like to hang out – great viewing for the kids, especially when it comes to feeding times or egg collecting! Please do supervise any dogs you bring if the hens/ducks have moved into your outdoor area and give them time to move away (which they will).
Parking is allocated adjacent to the property. In this same area you’ll find a picnic bench and charcoal fired BBQ for your private use. These grounds have an outlook from North to South-West and with early morning sunrises and light mist over the fields, you may be lucky enough to spot wild fallow deer grazing on the other side of Leighton Beck.
Spotlessly clean, cosy inside and with beautiful views of the local area, if you’re looking for an easy base to come back to after a day out walking or adventuring, Keeper’s Lodge makes a great choice.
