Your dogs are an integral part of the family. We understand. That’s why we have made Brackenthwaite Farm a haven for both you and your four-legged family members.
YOUR Dog'S HOLIDAY MATTERS TOO
Some places ‘accept’ dogs. Others, ‘welcome’ them. We go beyond both these, and if your dogs could talk, they’d surely tell you that there’s no better place for them that here at the farm! With their very own welcome pack to greet them on arrival, 2 ½ acres of enclosed and secure playing field to run around it (along with balls, throwers, and other toys to entertain them), and a further 7+ acres of farmland to explore, sniff at (and mark if you must!), your dogs’ tails will never have wagged so much!
We do have some livestock pets onsite including very free-ranging hens and ducks, and so all we ask is that to/from your holiday property you keep your dogs on a lead and under control. Equally, we do also have some dogs visiting that have social anxiety and so we respectfully request that their needs are also taken into consideration when about the farm.

It’s not all about the farm though, The Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape has some fantastic walking for you and your dogs as well as the most friendly and welcoming pubs, restaurants, places of interest, and even shops!
Enclosed Field
We have an enclosed field of 2.5 acres for your pup to play, toilet, and run around in. This is available to all staying guests and provides a secure environment for off lead exercise and play.
Lots of land
Almost 10 acres of land surround Brackenthwaite Farm and is there for you at your leisure.
Walks for all
Beyond the farm there are countless local walks, fantastic for humans and dogs of all ages and abilities for which we can provide information and personal recommendations
Muddy paws
There is a dog-wash area in The Courtyard readily available for use.

Welcome Pack
Every pup receives their own doggy welcome pack made up of towels, treats, poo bags, a water bowl, a dog-tag with Brackenthwaite details on it in case your pet goes astray, toys/balls and information on local dog-friendly attractions and dining options (of which there are many)

Brackenthwaite Farm sits within the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape, a beautiful and calming location but with plenty to explore and enjoy.

Holidaying with dogs can be difficult enough: oftern basic accommodation with a doggy smell and poor maintenance. And we know it can be the same when you want to get away with your horse. Perhaps even more basic! However, not at Brackenthwaite Farm! In contrast, here both you and your horses can enjoy your own comfort and holiday experience.

And what’s more, with us you’ll be staying in the beautiful Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape – a still largely unknown and unspoilt corner of England comprising of enchanting ancient woodlands, rich and diverse meadows, breath-taking coastline, sandy beaches, and intimate wetlands that support an abundance of life including rare and species of fauna and flora.
Stables and Padocks Onsite
Of course, hosre-riding is only part of your holiday. And for that reason we want to make sure that you and your horse or horses enjoy a full holiday experience. That’s why we provide good sized stables with plenty of rubber matting and up to five paddocks for your horses to rest and graze in during the warmer weather months. And for you, you’ll enjoy quality and comfort in one of our fabulous fully equipped, self-catering holiday properties, right on site. Furthermore, two of our holiday properties also face the stables in our Courtyard, so you never need to be too far from a loving gaze!
